For this month, our spotlight is on not just one employee, but an entire department! Today, we recognize the tremendous efforts of our I.T. Team.
The Information Technology (I.T.) Department acts as the cyber gate-keepers of the Credit Union. They are our members’ first line of defense in providing data security. They work around the clock to maintain system reliability. And they are always researching and implementing innovative and applicable user-friendly technology.
MAC’s I.T. Department is comprised of Nichole Dianoski, VP of Technology; Christien Brunquist, Department Manager; and Harry Schikora, System Analyst. Nichole manages all projects on an executive level to ensure protection of our members’ finances by overseeing cybersecurity, supporting and managing the I.T. team, and providing technology support that allows for internal and external daily functionality to operate seamlessly. She adds, “Helping solve a problem behind the scenes is very gratifying.”
Christien works many early mornings, late nights, and weekends to ensure all back-end operations are taken care of. This includes, but is not limited to, network hardware, network security, application services, and front-end technology.
Harry is our internal friendly face who can be seen moving around from branch to branch keeping our desktops, printers, and other I.T. equipment at 100% so our co-workers can fulfill the daily functions for members. According to Harry, “The best part of the job is fixing an issue someone has been having, or even one they may not have known was occurring.”
This team is recognized for how they work together cohesively and efficiently. I.T. requires long days, nights, and weekends to get the job done. Together they maximize their skill sets to provide excellent service to our MAC staff, but more importantly to the core of our business, our members!
The I.T. Department provides a variety of behind-the-scenes services and is working on new projects all the time. This year’s projects include upgrades to core systems, ATMs, and complete Windows 10 upgrades, just to name a few. With so much going on, one may wonder just how they do it all. I.T. Department Manager Christien says, “I’ve been in I.T. for a little over 25 years now. My satisfaction comes from solving complex problems and issues and driving projects to completion.” Without a doubt, our I.T. Team keeps our network secure, but also secures themselves as one of the best assets to our MAC Team. They are always talking about getting their ducks in a row, but what exactly does that mean? According to the I.T. Team, “First, you have to identify the project, find your ducks, then get them in order and execute the plan.”
