Larry Baillon currently holds the position as Chapter Manager for the Tanana Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross and has been with them since 1992. In 1992 he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Army with over 26 years of service, 9 of which had been served in Alaska, to make the Fairbanks his permanent home. Following his graduation from college he worked for 2 years as a State Examiner (auditor) for the State of Arizona before enlisting in the United States Army in 1966.
Larry has been married to his wife Karen for 38 years and they have two children and one grandson. Karen retired as the Librarian at West Valley High School 2002. They have been members of the credit union since October of 1990.
In 1980 he attended the US Army Command and General Staff College. He holds a Masters Degree in Logistics from Babson College and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Finance from Arizona State University.
Larry is a member of the Kiwanis Club and is also a Mason.
Linda Hilliard is a commercial travel agent for US Travel and has worked for them since August 1998. Prior to that, Linda worked for over 11 years in the financial institution industry.
Linda and her husband Gary have resided in Alaska for almost seven years and at this time plan to stay in Alaska. They have three grown children and several grandchildren. Their son and daughter-in-law are also members of the credit union. They own a home and live in North Pole. Her husband retired from the Air Force after 26 years of service and is working at the Transient Alert section at Eielson AFB and part-time as Everts Air Fuels in Fairbanks. They have been members of the credit union since November 1996.
She is member of International Airline Travel Agent Network and she has served on the board for Ft. Wainwright FCU since October 2001.
Mr. Tolliver is currently employed as an Environmental Protection Specialist at Ft. Wainwright with Department of Public Works. He retired after 20 years in the US Army.
Wayne and his wife, Darlene have been members of the credit union since January 1985, and they reside in North Pole.
Wayne is currently enrolled at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, seeking a Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
Wayne is a member of the Cheechako Lions Club on Ft. Wainwright. In addition to serving on MAC FCU's Board of Directors, he also serves on other local boards, such as the Interior Alaska Green Star, Ft. Wainwright Restoration Advisory Board, and the National Defense Industrial Association.
Edward Miller currently holds the position as the 801 project Manager for the Department of Public Works - Housing Division. He has been a civil service employee for 25 years. He retired from the US Army at Ft. Wainwright in 1976.
He has attended University Alaska Fairbanks.
Ed has been married to Vivian for 37 years. They became members of the credit union in September of 1983.
Ed has been a member of the Fraternal Order of the Masons since 1983 and currently holds the position of Grand Senior Warden.
Felicia Jackson currently is the Chief, Plans, Operations, and Exercises on Fort Wainwright and has been since Feb 2004. In 2001, she was medically discharged as a Major from the Army with over 16 years of service, 6 of those years (1996-2001) were served here at Fort Wainwright. From 2001-2004 she held the position of Deployment, Mobilization and Family Readiness Manager at Fort Wainwright.
Felicia has been married to her husband Kenneth for 16 years and they have three boys, one girl, and one grandson. Ken has worked as a heavy equipment operator and Hazmat tech for the Fairbanks North Star Borough since 1997. Ken has been in the Air National Guard for 18 years. He is a TSGT in the 168th Wing, Air National Guard located at Kulis AFB down in Anchorage.
Felicia has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Military Science with a minor in Sports Medicine from State University New York at Brockport. She attended the Combined Armed and Services Staff School in 1998. She is currently certified as a substitute teacher.
Felicia and Ken have been members of the credit union since October of 1996. Felicia currently holds the position of the Civilian AUSA Representative for the Polar Bear Chapter, sits on the Play-N-Learn Board of Directors as the Vice President/Treasurer and Joy School Parent Representative, is a member of PTA for Joy Elementary, Tanana Middle and Lathrop High School, is a board member for the Fort Wainwright Thrift Store, a member of the Fort Wainwright Officer's Club, a member of the American Legion (Post 11), a member of MADD, and volunteers for many other activities.
Brian Adams currently works for the Directorate of Public Works Environmental Resources Office as an Environmental Protection Specialist. He manages the Clean Water Program and the Solid Waste Program.
Brian graduated from Mission San Jose High School in Fremont , California in 1972. He attended Ohlone Junior College until March of 1973 at which time I joined the US Army.
He served 20 years and retired in April 1993 working as a Photojournalist during my 20 years, and had several assignments. They included Fort Bragg , North Carolina , Ford Ord, California , Fort Benning , Georgia , Germany and Hawaii . His last duty assignment was to Alaska . He arrived at Fort Wainwright in September of 1998, assigned to the 6th Infantry Division (Light).
During his career he has had the opportunity to work with the United States Army Parachute Team, The Golden Knights; the Australian, German, Japanese, and Royal Thai Armies and with the Multi-National Forces and Observer Mission in the Middle East .
Brian decided to stay in Alaska after his retirement because he enjoyed the area. It was and continues to be quiet and comfortable. He has been a member of MAC FCU since my arrival in Alaska . He is divorced and has a daughter.
He currently serve as the President of the USBC Trio-League (Bowling), does photo work as part of his job and for his own personal use, and plays golf during the summer.
First Sergeant Benedix assumed the position of First Sergeant for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, United States Army Garrison in October 4, 2001 and is still presently serving.
First Sergeant Rex R. Benedix is a United States Citizen. He entered the Army in September 1978, attending Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonardwood , Missouri . During his military career, First Sergeant Benedix served two tours in the Republic of Germany , one tour in the Republic of Korea , one tour at Fort Lewis , Washington , one tour at Fort Carson , Colorado , one tour at Fort Jackson , South Carolina , one tour at Fort Huachuca , Arizona , and is currently serving in his second tour in Alaska .
First Sergeant Benedix served in many leadership positions throughout his Military career: Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Motor Sergeant, Battalion Motor Sergeant, Battalion Operations Sergeant, Drill Sergeant, First Sergeant, and Acting Post Command Sergeant.
His first assignment was in February 1979 with the 1/31 FA Camp Moser, Korea as a vehicle mechanic before turning the camp over to the Koreans. He was then assigned to the 1/15 FA Camp Stanley, Korea in June 1979 until his reassignment to the 2nd Brigade, 9th Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington in February 1980 where he served as Shop Foreman, Wrecker Recovery NCO, Engineer Support Equipment NCOIC, and Squad Leader. He was responsible for the support of all recovery missions within the 2nd Infantry Brigade Fort Lewis, Washington. Sergeant Benedix departed the Army in 1982 to attend a trade school as an Automotive Technician. Upon his reentry in the Army in 1984, he was assigned to Delta Troop 1/10 CAV, 4th Infantry Division Fort Carson, Colorado as a Squad Leader, Shop Foreman, and Recovery NCO. He was responsible for the maintenance and recovery support for the unit during Reforger 1985 in Germany and two NTC rotations. He was then assigned to the 178th Combat Service and Support Maintenance Company for 4/7 ADA in the Republic of Germany in June 1986. As an E5, the most senior NCO on station, he was responsible for 18 Soldiers during the reactivation of the 178th from Fort Bliss , Texas . During this time, he was responsible for the movement of organizational equipment and installation of furniture in four three story barracks. Once the unit's equipment redeployment was completed, he reestablished motor pool operations. Staff Sergeant Benedix was reassigned to Fort Jackson , South Carolina and selected by DA to be a Drill Sergeant from June 1990 to October 1992. Upon completion of Drill Sergeant duty, he was assigned to the 19th Maintenance Company, 5/7 ADA in Bitburg and Hanau , Germany from May 1993 to October 1996. During this time, Sergeant First Class Benedix was responsible for the maintenance of the company's rolling stock of over 220 pieces of equipment and the deployment and redeployment to Southwest Asia . He was a member of the advance party that set up joint operations in Dhahran and Riyadh , Saudi Arabia . In November 1996, he was assigned to the 40th Signal Battalion, 11th Signal Brigade, Fort Huachuca , Arizona as Platoon Sergeant and Motor Sergeant. As a Sergeant First Class, he was selected over seven Master Sergeants as First Sergeant to start up a new unit under the new Tactical Theater Support Battalion. During his 17 months, First Sergeant Benedix conducted numerous deployments of Soldiers and equipment to Southwest Asia, Thailand , and Egypt . He was then assigned to the 98th Maintenance Company at Fort Wainwright , Alaska in January 2000 to June 2001 as the NCOIC in charge of over 80 Soldiers. He is currently assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters, Company United States Army Garrison as First Sergeant.
First Sergeant Benedix is a graduate of the Primary Leadership Course (PLC), Basic and Advance Noncommissioned Officer's Course, Drill Sergeant School , and the First Sergeant Course. First Sergeant Benedix has devoted many years to taking care of Soldiers and their families. He and his wife are supporters of the Family Readiness Group, the Association of the United States Army, and the Ordnance Corps Association. He is an Honorary Order of Saint Barbara, and his wife is an Honorary Molly Pitcher and a Mary Walker Awardee. First Sergeant Benedix shares his knowledge with Soldiers and NCOs making them better both on the job and off duty.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (1st Award), the Army Commendation Medal (Five Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (Three Oak Leaf Clusters), Good Conduct Medal (Seventh Award), National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Third Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Fourth Award), Drill Sergeant's Badge, Driver's and Mechanic's Badge.
First Sergeant Benedix has been married for 22 years to Cheryl L. Benedix. They have two children, Jana and Michelle.
